ποΈ Alpine Loop β The Ultimate Off-Road Experience
Distance: over 100 miles total
Starting at Ironton Trailhead, the Alpine Loop is a legendary off-road circuit connecting Ouray, Silverton, and Lake City. Because Silverton no longer allows UTVs through town, most people skip it taking Corkscrew Pass to Hurricane Pass to California Pass and landing at Animas Forks, a notorious ghost town. If time permits, you may explore parts of upper Engineer Pass and/or Cinnamon Pass. However most people do not have time to make it to Lake City and back due to the far distance and off-road terrain.
πΉ Highlights: Animas Forks, Red Mountain views, high-altitude passes
